| At age 34, overcoming some of my biggest fears has granted me periods in my life of supreme respect for the grand plan of the universe. Unfortunately, I’ve learned I have the idiotic ability to forget the huge lessons. Luckily, my cosmic fortune cookie never seems to mind having to repeatedly tell me things until I get it! My favorite food comes in boxes decorated with a Leprechaun, or a toucan bird. I am an amateur pizza critic & recently had the idea of trying to eat and rate every pizza parlor listed in our local phone book. This falls into my long-term goal category, alongside my need to lose 20 lbs. I recently reviewed my old High School transcripts. Shocked by my horrible attendance & grades, I made mental notes to give my son a refresher lecture on the importance of school and to call my mother & apologize for the agony I inflicted on her. I’ve realized I never really quit smoking; I just stop for long periods of time. With age has come the wisdom of good car insurance and a decent credit score. I no longer cry over spilled milk. Finally, I know if tomorrow comes then more change is inevitable and embracing is easier than resisting it. |
